A Barber-preneur stays customer-focused

E2K Barber Studio is a family-owned business providing a range of services from haircuts to traditional hot towel shaves, facials, and hair coloring.

Originally opened in 1999 in Echo Park, Calif., owners Moses Araiza and Dahlia Reyes recently moved the business to Pasadena, with a mountain-view location along Historic Route 66.  The business was originally built by Dahlia, Moses’ mother. But Moses was always around to help her out from a young age. That part-time help turned into a full-time occupation change during the last recession, when Moses stepped in to help save the family business. Moses and Dahlia now have a four-chair studio, along with rooms for facials and other treatments. They host art nights and music gatherings, which they feel bring their local community together in support of each other.

An extra boost of attention

But with a busy studio, and expanding the business to serve more clients and add new services, Moses and Dahlia have a hard time keeping up with their social media presence and other marketing efforts.

After subscribing to the Plink platform, which automates marketing outreach and offers the same tools and technology that big retailers have access to, Moses now has to spend much less time creating and updating marketing content, allowing him to spend more time cultivating personal relationships with his clients.

"I've never had a company helping me like this before. I get to partner with Uber and Airbnb. I couldn't have done this all by myself" says Araiza.
